Payment options

Hi,
I represent a classic car club that wants to build a club website using Joomla! 1.5.
I like the look of your starter plan, but I notice that the only payment option offered is credit card. This is not convenient for the club because they don't hold any payment cards for their bank account. They would rather pay by direct debit. Is this possible?
Regards
Allen

Allen,

I'm glad to hear you're interested in Rochen for Joomla based website.

Unfortunately the only method we accept is monthly credit card payments by visa or mastercard. The only thing I can suggest is either some kind of 'pre-paid' credit card or to use a personal card for the transaction.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

It would be nice to just pay an annual premium. I have customers with the same questions - Why monthly?

Maybe you can add this feature soon?

The monthly payment option is there for two reasons -

1) It means customers don't need to be locked into long-term contracts.

2) From our point of view it allows us to calculate cash flow far easier.

Annual payments is something we are looking at but have not made any decision on yet.

Thumbs up Yearly payments

Another vote in favor of yearly payments here!

We're not big on having to pay too many bills during our low season. If this can be arranged, we'll probably sign up immediately.

Paypal would also be appreciated, but that's hardly a requirement.

I prefer monthly actually.

Much more flexible for changing plans and (not with Rochen, but I had trouble with previous hosts) less chance of being "burned" by company changes.

Do you think it keeps you honest Chris? LOL

There are advantages and disadvantages to both billing cycles. However, if we introduced annual billing then monthly billing would still remain the default and recommended option

We don't offer direct debit at this time. We can accept payment by Visa, MasterCard and American Express as well as UK issued debit cards.

Cheque?

Chris, would Rochen accept a cheque for the annual subscription? I know this sounds Bizarre, but we are a charity and do not have a credit card. Thanks again, Nick

Hi csfinh1,

You can find our accepted payment methods here, we would not be able to accept payment via cheque for shared or MVS plans at this time.

Csfinh1,

One option you may wish to consider is using a personal card and signing up for a year and then claiming this back as an expense from the charity.

Also to note, if you send through a copy of the charity registration certificate to sales@rochen.com we can setup a special promotional code to give you a 10% recurring discount for the life of the account. Any standard promo codes apply to the first invoice only.

I know this is an old thread and your prob fed up answering this.... but I would also appreciate direct debit - a previous comment was the monthly cycle helped forecast cashflow...... well DD is easy to implement, and allows monthly billing with no hassles to the customer - indeed billing would be much more convenient for business customers. It's a hassle to pay with CCard in comparison. Is there a particular reason DD cannot be offered?
