testing site on new host

I've created a Joomla 2.5 site that it not working with the server configuration of my current host. If I buy a hosting plan from Rochen and start developing on a temporary url, but then decide not to go with Rochen after all, will I have to pay any fees other than the amount of my hosting plan times the number of months I used it? I want to know how easy it is to just test things out with Rochen before making an official recommendation to my boss that we move to a different host.
